today's designated blogger

Zak was scheduled to write today's blog entry, but he called in sick with a cold. Not to worry. He's in fine spirits, despite waking up this morning with a shiny red nose and a zig-zag of dried boogers across his forehead. Now that was an attractive look. In fact, I'm picturing it in my head right now. Anyway...Mom and I are taking good care of the little fella, and I'm sure he'll be back online in no time. Love, Wyn

born to be wild

Since Wyn and I turned seven months old last Saturday, we thought it was about time for a rebellious phase. Naturally, we decided to go punk.

cousin sam

Tonight was a treat. Our big cousin Sam came over to play for awhile, which was tons of fun. Sam taught us some neat games, like "hide ball under blanket" and "Eeyore toss." He then impressed us with some pretty advanced tricks, such as sitting and walking. Pictured here is Sam showing us some new techniques for reading autonomously. Up 'til now, it had only occurred to us to chew on the pages.
Sam also has his own blog, which automatically makes him hip in our book. You can check it out here.

tah-dah!

I love to strike this pose. In fact, I'll hold this position for 60 seconds or more several times a day. Why? Because I can.

rockin'

Hey! Did you know that if you really really want to, you can push up on your hands and knees and rock back and forth? You should try it sometime. What Zak and I want to know is, could there be an even more fun activity to try when we're in this position? Hmmmmm...

happy birthday, mommy!

Today is Mom's birthday! We can't tell you how old she is [because we haven't learned to count - Zak], but she looks pretty young to us. We sure are lucky that she's our Mom. Here's a photo of the three of us.

Happy birthday, Mom! We love you.

pig wrestling

Well, it's happened. Wyn and I have discovered that there are two of us, and only one Squishy Piggy. My Squishy Piggy. Mine.

find the babies

Earlier today, Mom left us on our playmat with a selection of toys while she went to make a ham sandwich. That's when Wyn decided to relocate himself halfway across the room. I can't reveal the exact combination of rolls, turns and backward slithers my brother used to navigate this particular move. But I give him a 9.8 for artistic achievement.

da

Sometimes I just stop and think about how much I love my Daddy. Zak, Mom and I miss him very much when he's away at work. We can't wait 'til he comes home every day.

adventures in eating

one pair of Baby Gap bibs: $5.99
two Graco high chairs in Bentley Bear pattern: $139.98
one jar of Gerber baby food: 49 cents
trying vegetables for the first time: priceless

[I didn't think it was priceless. You need to pay me to eat this stuff. To see a video of my reaction, click here - Zak]

tricked out

On Thursday, Dr. Andy instructed us to add solid foods in the form of fruits and vegetables to our diet. Naturally, this requires some new equipment. So today Mom and Dad took us out to buy high chairs. While that was an adventure worthy of its own blog entry, take a look at the high-performance machines we came home with! They have all the features a couple of demanding infant gourmands might desire. In addition to being constructed of 100% waterproof surfaces, they feature four-position reclining seat backs, casters on all legs (to aid in getting us to the food), adjustable seat heights, removable trays that pop in the dishwasher, and for our most demanding culinary adventures, five point safety harness systems, just like race car drivers use! We're looking forward to breaking these puppies in and are sure to get the most from them in the coming years.

big brother

Just want to let you all know that there's a new big brother in the house. Me! Zak and I went to the doctor today, and what do you know. I now weigh 17 pounds, while Zak is only 16 pounds, 8 ounces. He can push himself up to try and look bigger all he wants, but the numbers don't lie. And hey, I'm not even getting a big head over it. The circumferences of our noggins are exactly the same.
